Learning new things is always difficult. Getting to know a field you don’t know is not a simple. Likewise, before I started studying IT, I had a lot of thoughts. Then I saw Queens Gambit last weekend. And I got a hint of my own.

In that drama, I saw the scene where the protagonist ‘Beth Herman’ replaying the past game. Even in the game she overwhelmed, she recalls whether there were any mistakes. Seeing whether the successful outcome was perfect, she progresses quickly. I was inspired by looking back. I decided to look back on the memory of learning that I did well so far. As I fumbled through my memories, I was able to find out how it worked when I learned.

1. Determine how to obtain information.

Many people focus only the information itself. But in the learning, the process of ‘getting’ information is more important. When you get information, you have to think about which medium to use is most effective. For example, when I was learning movies, podcasts were more effective than books. Now you can’t study just with books. The number of media for obtaining information has increased. Careful choice is required for this.

2. If you don’t feel it, you don’t learn.

Learning is tired. Keeping in touch with unfamiliar things is stressful. Therefore, you have to feel various emotions while learning. Education, where only irritation and stress dominate, is bound to fail. On the other hand, if you can feel wonders, frustrations, fears, bliss, and even anger and sadness in learning, it will reach the deepest of you along the path of emotions. I had the opportunity to work with YouTubers who makes economic contents. I didn’t know anything about the economy. However, being with them was a great satisfaction for me. When I was in school, studying economics, which I hated rather than dying, became a different meaning to me in that satisfaction.
